$109,500 OTF Grant A Cool Investment for the Copper Cliff Curling Club
Copper Cliff – In 2019, the COPPER CLIFF CURLING CLUB received a $109,500 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to install a new ice-making plant in the community curling club’s site. The project was completed last fall and will give people in the community the chance to continue leading a healthy active and social lifestyle.
“This investment by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to install a new ice-making plant in the Copper Cliff Curling Club facility is great news for our community,” said Jamie West, MPP for Sudbury. “There are many in the community who will benefit from this and it ensures that the space remains viable for all.”
The new plant equipment includes a chiller, compressor, brine pump, and glycol loop that will allow for the efficient installation of ice to provide a quality playing surface for many years. In addition to curling, the Facility is used by a variety of community organizations for events, meetings, celebrations, and fundraisers. Thanks to the $109,500 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, all members of the public can continue to utilize and enjoy the building.
"The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” said Tim Lloyd, President of the COPPER CLIFF CURLING CLUB. “This grant has allowed for the replacement of equipment that is critical to the operation of our facility to be made. The complete replacement of our ice plant will accommodate curling and events for many years to come.”
The COPPER CLIFF CURLING CLUB organization is committed to ensuring the viability of our facility as a recreational and meeting venue that will keep our community healthy and connected and to serve as a site for many activities that take place over the course of the year.
